“Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.” Psalm 150:6

Dear friends,

What brings praise to your heart today? When was the last time you stopped and praised God for who he is in your life? When was the last time you sat in silence praising God as the beauty of a sunrise, or a sunset, unfolded?

These are some of the questions I have been asking myself every day. I don’t want another day to go by during which I don’t praise and acknowledge God’s goodness and grace in my life. Yet I have found that some days this goal can be very challenging. Within a world that is struggling to get back to some normalcy, I find that I need to be intentional to praise God for all the little things I see and hear each day. I started pondering words of praise from the Scriptures.

  • “Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done wonderful things, things planned long ago.” (Isa. 25:1)
  • “Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name.”(Ps. 103:1)
  • “I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.” (Ps. 9:1)
  • “Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior, and my God.” (Ps. 42:11)

I pray that this month we will use our breath to praise God every day. Let us join hands as we lift up our voices in thanksgiving prayer and praise.

In Him our hearts rejoice.
