Message from Lyn Burnett - June 2019
Life is a journey! and for the past seven years I have journeyed with TWR Women of Hope. I started off as the Gauteng Coordinator and shortly after that took on the role as National Coordinator for South Africa. Many of you have encouraged and supported me along the way. THANK YOU!
But now my journey is taking a different road. While my husband James and I have served with TWR for more than 37 years, we are relocating from Kempton Park to Port Elizabeth. Both of us will continue with TWR – just from a different place. James will work on Technical Projects for TWR and I will focus on developing the TWR Women of Hope ministry in the Eastern Cape. My passion for women has not changed and there is still much to do in God’s Kingdom.
You may be wondering why Port Elizabeth? It is James’ hometown and the place I met him. We have our sending and supporting church, Trinity Baptist there, but the main reason we are moving is because the Lord has clearly directed our footsteps and we are going in obedience to Him. Our life verse is Proverbs 3:5,6 ‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.’ We have trusted the Lord and prayed much about our future and the Lord has directed our paths and prepared a place for us there. We have sold our house in Kempton Park and found a lovely town house in Port Elizabeth.
Please pray for someone who would be willing to replace me as the TWR Women of Hope National Coordinator for South Africa. This is a volunteer position and the person needs to have a passion for women and feel called to serve the Lord in this capacity. In the meantime, TWR Women of Hope in South Africa carries on!
In closing I leave you with this from Philippians 3:13,14 – ‘One thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on towards the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.’
Keep looking ahead and press on!
love and blessings,
At our new home in Humewood, Port Elizabeth
